JD Vance was born in 1984 in Middletown, Ohio; he comes from, in his own words, "Appalachian" and "Scots Irish" stock. Growing up, he was very close to his grandparents and was significantly influenced by them. He served in the Marine Corps during the Iraq War as a combat correspondent and then as a public affairs Marine. After his service, he attended Ohio State and earned his J.D. at Yale Law School. He worked in venture capital in San Francisco and, in 2016, published his book Hillbilly Elegy, which has been hailed as a voice for the rust belt.
JD Vance became a United States Senator in 2023 and has been a staunch advocate for conservatism and America First. One of the first things he did was push for legislation to help prevent train derailment and another East Palestine disaster. He has also been vehemently opposed to sending aid to Ukraine in its ongoing fight against Russia.
On July 15, Trump chose Senator Vance as his running mate. Vance can bring youth and a working-class perspective to the White House, and I believe he will be crucial to draining the swamp and ending the bloated bureaucracy. The Heritage Society, which authored the Project 25 papers, strongly advocated for Senator Vance as vice president.
