CAPITOLA, CA - Tech entrepreneur Lars Mapstead, Libertarian candidate for president, issued this following statement, in response to the Libertarian National Convention announcing they are hosting Donald Trump as a guest speaker for their Convention in Washington DC May 24-27th.
Trump is no Libertarian! He wants to "take the guns first," shut down the border, execute Edward Snowden, use the government to spy on you, ban TikTok and then unban TikTok, and rig the election when it benefits him. He appointed Fauci to run a social media censorship campaign, John Bolton to run his war machine, and Jeff Sessions to run the war on drugs, all while telling us he was "draining the swamp." Now he's showing up at our convention. We are not Republicans and Democrats that you can just sway to the duopoly. We've been fighting the two old, corrupt, parties for the past 50 years. We are Libertarians. We are THAT Libertarian. We were the first to argue to end the drug war, legalize gay marriage, and the only consistent voice against the surveillance and war state since it started. We work to nullify bad laws, hold authoritarian politicians accountable, and end the cult of the omnipotent state! Instead of welcoming Trump to our convention with open arms, I ask you to join me and strike a real blow against the duopoly's control in America. I ask you to make history with me by joining together, across caucus and geographic lines, in the face of the arrogant Democratic and Republican Parties who think they can just walk in and destroy everything thousands of activists have built, and ruin their day. I ask you to fight back. I have the only plan to spoil this rotten election. Some of you like it. Some of you don't. But either we're going to take the duopoly trying to take our party lying down, or we're not. I hope you'll join me in not just standing up, but fighting back. Vote Lars Mapstead in D.C.
