Did Your Congressman Vote to Hide Sexual Misconduct?

On Wednesday, members of Congress made a procedural vote on a resolution that would have publicly released the records of sexual misconduct by members of Congress. This resolution included language to redact victims names, while exposing which members of Congress were named as perpetrators in cases of sexual assault and sexual harassment.
To date, over $17 million in taxpayer dollars have been allocated by Congress to pay off victims of sexual assault and harassment by their own members. These records have not been released to the public, in spite of several attempts by Congresswoman Nancy Mace to bring a bill to the House floor. In her latest attempt, 357 members of Congress voted to block the resolution from reaching a floor vote, effectively killing the bill, and keeping the aforementioned records out of the public eye.
