Actor and producer Patrick Kilpatrick is coming to Dallas on December 11 to discuss the future of the film industry in North Texas. The Hollywood veteran will join congressional candidate Kurt Schwab for a luncheon at The Wild Turkey Restaurant to discuss jobs, media production, and the economic potential tied to the entertainment sector’s expansion into Dallas.

The event, titled “Framing the Future,” will highlight the decision by Kilpatrick’s company, Uncommon Dialogue Films, to shift some production operations to Dallas. The move is part of a larger strategy to position Texas as the next international hub for film and streaming production. Prosperity, entertainment growth, job creation, community development, and investor interest can accelerate quickly when local talent and institutions are aligned.
The film industry has argued that workers, universities, public services, local talent, and the financial sector all stand to benefit from an expanded film footprint in the region, and recently lobbied for subsidies from the State legislature. Uncommon Dialogue Films has a slate of projects planned with internationally known collaborators, and production is expected to begin as early the first quarter of 2026.
Organizers say the luncheon will serve as both an industry discussion and a call to action for investors and stakeholders interested in expanding Dallas’s role in film and entertainment. Attendees will hear how Texas can leverage its workforce, educational institutions, and business climate to attract major projects that previously would have gone to states like Georgia or New Mexico.
The luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Wild Turkey Restaurant, located at 2470 Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas. Those wishing to attend are encouraged to RSVP through Schwab’s campaign website, www.kurtschwab4congress.com
Kilpatrick, whose career spans more than 230 film and television credits, has worked with directors such as Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Antoine Fuqua, and Walter Hill. His production company focuses on stories of courage and redemption set against dramatic backdrops, and hopes to bring future productions to Texas.
